Position Title On-call Archaeological Technician

Pre-Employment Screening Requires successful completion of a background check.
Position Function

Perform Phase 1, Phase 2, or Phase 3 archaeological surveys and related laboratory analysis as assigned by Director.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree with relevant training in Anthropology and/or Archaeology.

Minimum Experience

At least 120 hours of archaeological experience in Cultural Resource Management or under similar working conditions.

Preferred Education

Training in laboratory analysis of prehistoric cultural materials.
An archaeological field school, particularly with a prehistoric component.

Preferred Experience

200+ hours of Cultural Resource Management experience in archaeology.

Duties & Responsibilities

Job Duty

Perform reconnaissance survey, including surface collection and/or shovel test pit survey.

Record standard field notes, including photographs, maps, and textual descriptions as appropriate.

Collaborate with team members to accomplish project goals.

Perform, independently or as part of a team, test unit excavation in controlled manner.

Other duties as assigned by Principal Investigator or Crew Chief.
