Description

Highly qualified scholar within counseling to direct CACREP accredited program in clinical mental health counseling and teach courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Counseling Psychology, Social Psychology and Counseling.

Minimum Qualifications

Counselor education applicants must be a graduate of a CACREP accredited doctoral program with at least three years of teaching experience in a CACREP accredited graduate program.

Counseling psychologist applicants must be a graduate of an APA accredited doctoral program and have teaching experience in a CACREP accredited graduate program before July 1, 2013.

Candidates must demonstrate professional competence in a specialty area within the field of counseling, must demonstrate sustained membership and active involvement in the American Counseling Association, its Divisions, or Affiliate Associations, and provide evidence of research and scholarly activity in counseling.

Preferred Qualifications

Eligibility for licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in the State of Indiana. Special consideration will be given to candidates who can also contribute to other graduate programs within the department. Applicants should be able to mentor students on diversity issues and facilitate immersive learning experiences.

Certifications/Licensures

Licensed within first three years as a Mental Health Counselor in the State of Indiana.

The department offers training leading to an undergraduate minor in Interpersonal Relations and the following degrees: M.A. in counseling (CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling, CORE-accredited Rehabilitation Counseling), M.A. in Social Psychology, and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology (APA accredited).
